Resolution Here's how I solved this problem: Installations install Visual Studio 2008 install VS 2008 Team Explorer as above. By the way the SP1 and compability TFS2012 packages couldnt be installed becase the installers couldnt find any update. The TFS configuration has changed. The Team Explorer is busy.
