Monday, August 13, 2007 2:35 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I followed all the steps in the checklist and still had a variant of this problem viz How can I open the next/previous file alphabetically? No reboot. TIKZ: foreach not compatible with calc-library?
This may prevent discovery and file sharing. I am convinced that Vista does not play well with XP Pro in a workgroup setting. What is considered good DSL Noise margin / SNR ?
They are both under workgroup called workgroup and IP and DNS are set to auto. If it makes you feel more comfortable, reboot all PCs in the network and when you go to add a printer to each remote PC (those without the printer attached) it This changes by itself, during the day without me actually changing any settings. But not Windows Vista, XP I did all the steps and it worked until i tried assigning the last laptop a static ip, so i just set them all to dynamic.
Maybe they just shouldn't create the problems in the first place. I triple checked everything. Then I clicked Internet and Network and finally on Inbound Events. I have three computer and i want to network all three computer together and i have also have a printer that I want to share.

- The time now is 21:07.
- Any ideas besides a reload would be considered.
- The 7 computer can see Vista fine, all files, printers.
- the point of doing that (with the internet connection closed-down, of course) is to see if the problem can be isolated there.
- I've tried everything I can think of to fix this problem short of sacrificing a virgin and other esoteric troubleshooting techniques.
- The workgroups are the same.
- Click the "Change Settings" button and change the workgroup name to "MSHOME".

However, your suggestion about switching to a static IP then back to DHCP gave me the idea of trying to do an ipconfig /release and /renew and that fixed my issue.
