Vista Cannot Kill Utorrent
Gus Thursday December 25, 2008 at 12:08 PM Reply Man i got the same problem and i got ZoneAlarm pro lets see what happens…. Any command or application launched from this window will "run elevated"; it usually will automatically Run as Administrator without further password prompts." Glenn Friday August 14, 2009 at 7:39 AM Reply Can't find it right now, will post back here if I do. Unfortunately, 3.xx didn't resolve the issue, until now, that is. Source
just set option "run with highest privileges". Giveus a "kill -9"! I encountered a couple of times the problem already. I don't know, but you're lucky.
Utorrent Unable To Terminate Process
In my case the whole point of my program is to test software, and in such cases it would be very convenient if the test system could handle all sorts of In Windows XP Pro, I never encountered or heard of anyone encountering a complete inability to terminate a process. I cannot even right click and end process. Jason Ward Saturday December 27, 2008 at 4:18 PM Reply Frankly, I don't care whose fault this is, but thank you GodKillzYou for the solution.

- I just uninstalled Zone Alarm and now my computer seems to be working fine.
- a OS that can't fuckin kill dead/locked up programs AT ALL unless you reboot.
- Yes, this is an OS problem.
- Sabrina: The process in my case is Firefox's plugin-container.exe.
- It took a long time, almost 5 minutes, to terminate, but nevertheless, it terminated without forcing me to log off!!
- I was searching for a solution to this for a very long time jim Monday April 19, 2010 at 11:20 AM Reply fuck you TheSkepticalAtheist Monday April 19, 2010 at 11:29
- I think something is wrong with my Vista.
If I reboot my computer, I can run it, but it just displays the steam pop-up saying "Preparing to launch Team Fortress 2." And then it doesn't. Even on my own machines that had issues all along under XP run flawlessly under Win7. I also have vista home edition 32 bit installed in my laptop as second OS, and i have no problem in Utorrent downloads.. Pstools You must uninstall it.
i then tried "pskill -t gta_sa.exe" ..REALLY BAD IDEA.. Utorrent Wont Close Mac Unfortunately and fortunately, I cannotintentionally duplicate the hung process scenario. Windows Vista on the right hardware is a fine OS, Windows 7 is ROCK SOLID when you use the right hardware and right software. I just don't think you should be telling people to do very stupid things.
Does it really take 5 minutes to terminate utorrent?! Taskkill I'm on Windows 7 ultimate SP1, and using the latest version of utorrent. You can kill processes in Vista if you have enough privileges to do so. Looks to me like Windows messed up an list of processes and has become self-incoherent.

You can use sysinternals Process explorer (procexp) to view and set these privileges for running processes... Utorrent Unable To Terminate Process In the previous incarnation I dealt with in Vista, the terminate methods would not give any error. Utorrent Process Name I solved the problem by using Flashget for torrents.
There are reports in various forums that uTorrent exceeds memory limit and shoots up to 100% in other cases some downloads will stop at 99.9%. http://dirsubmit.net/vista-cannot/vista-cannot-see-xp-machine.html Now anytime when you hold down the CTRL key and press the SCROLL LOCK key two times, Windows Vista will automatically crash to a BSOD. But that's too risky and more times than not will cause loss of data or system boot problems. This is always a danger with an open system, there might be 200 million combinations of hardware and software (or more), and if it causes issues for some, there may be Pskill
Thank you, Mark Mark Monday, January 28, 2013 1:52 PM 0 Sign in to vote I know this is a very old thread, but it still comes up on the first uTorrent is not the first app that is encountering such problems, Mozilla Thunderbird was also having trouble running in Windows 7 for some users. If I find anything, I will write back! Process Explorer No matter what action you take, whether you click "End Process," or "End Process Tree," none of these would close the program, aside from restarting the computer. But ending a legitimate process on a clean machine should not entail finding 3rd party programs that are, in essence, hacks, and using them to do what Windows cannot.
It pops a bunch of warnings up -- way more than even ZA, if I'm remembering correctly.
The task no longer appears in Applications, however the process utorrent.exe appears in Processes tab of Task Manager. Outlook hung and the process could NOT be terminated. Do not believe just do it and you will that i'm right. Bittorrent which again, looks lovely, but couldn't close the hanging software!
THANKS A WHOLE LOT! Here, select Windows Vista under compatibility mode and make sure that it is checked to run under Administrator privileges. LogicprObe I think this stuff applies to pre 2.0 versions as mine looks a fair bit different. Check This Out Because of the inconsistent nature of the problem, it would likely take months to even completeone cycle of clean boot troubleshooting.
What happens if the malaware guys find out how to replicate this. Friday, November 04, 2011 11:17 AM 0 Sign in to vote windows 7 is more unstable. I have this project were i used just edirol, nexus, idj…nothing else, very known VST`s. I wouldn't have said so myself, since it's mine, unless/until another metioned it first.
It most be someway to kill process HARD in windows, like kill -9 in linux, pskill does not help. Stop blaming sites for giving you a utility that was not meant to fix application issues. If it is not visible, click on View \ Select Columns… and make sure PID (Process Identifier) is checked and select OK.
