You need to run the commandlline from the install location of Virtualbox (default is C:\Program files\Oracle\Virtualbox - I believe) or you can add the Virtualbox path to the path environment variable Need help? Tried this and it worked, brilliant. Just used this to increase the size of my Windows 7 disk from 20 to 30 GB, and it worked very smoothly (no unregistering etc needed). $ VBoxManage modifyhd Windows7.vdi --resize I just copied my VM files from one harddrive to anohter bc of low HD capacity and got the same problem.
