I like being able to have the superuser be able to use the colors as well (since the superuser is me). As an example, I just found all these files in the /usr/share/vim/vim72/colors directory on my Mac OS X system: blue.vim darkblue.vim default.vim delek.vim desert.vim elflord.vim evening.vim koehler.vim morning.vim murphy.vim pablo.vim peachpuff.vim I have also found vimrc files in both /etc/vim and /usr/share/vim, so I am unsure of where I am actually supposed to be making my changes.
